This image was shot during the World Wide Photo Walk event that was held on October 5th. Unbeknownst to me, the Missoula Independent had published a request for photographs taken around Missoula on that particular day as a part of the “A Day in the Life” feature they are working on. I learned about it on the Walk and then shortly before the deadline, I submitted this image and a couple of other images that I captured throughout the day. I am excited to say that it has been selected to appear in the article and as part of the feature, it will be on display at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography gallery on November 1st for Missoula’s monthly First Friday event!
This is a long exposure of the Clarkfork River at Brennan’s Wave from the Caras Park outlook. A lone kayaker was playing in the water that afternoon. I love how turbulent the waters were, especially with what the longer exposure does and how the kayak is blurred as he moves about in the water. I am very honored to have ‘Stampede’ appear in the RMSP gallery in a couple of weeks. If you are downtown on Nov. 1st, stop in and say ‘hi’ and see it in person.
